How to add an experiment
Three requirements. They aren't arbitrary — they are Article 4, 5, and 6 of the charter, put into practice.
1. One person can do it at home
- Budget ≤ ¥200 (~$30)
- Time ≤ one weekend (slow experiments may span a few days, but not "check every hour for a month")
- No professional facility, no license, no permit
2. Say what counts as success
Before you start, write it down: "if the number lands between 2.4 and 3.4 × 10⁸, it worked."
Not "look at the effect" or "feel it out" — that's not an experiment.
This is Article 6 of the charter in practice: everyone has the right to submit evidence, but not everyone is right.
3. Name the traps and the risks
Including "don't do this one."
Half the value of a good experiment page lives in its "traps" section.
How to submit
- Copy experiments/_template.md
- Save it as
experiments/<your-experiment>.md(lowercase-hyphenated English, e.g.microwave-speed-of-light.md) - Add one row to the matching category table in README.md (and README.en.md if you can)
- Open a PR
One experiment per PR. To edit someone else's page, just open a PR.
Translations
Translations are welcome, one file per PR:
- Experiment page →
experiments/<name>.en.md(or.zh.mdif you're translating from English) - Lists and charter → edit
README.en.md/CHARTER.en.md/MANIFESTO.en.mddirectly
No need to wait for approval, no need to translate the whole batch. One page at a time.
Not accepted
- Pseudo-science, mysticism, words like "quantum" or "energy" used to sell
- Helping a brand verify its product
- Health or treatment claims
- Dangerous work: high voltage, open flame, ingestion or inhalation of chemicals, live animals, anything that can hurt someone
- Link-only entries with no write-up
Where to post your result
